Wausau East High School: Echoing the spirit of generations, demonstrating excellence around every corner and welcoming the community with resources for the future.
A new Wausau East reflects the character of the 1930s East High in its art deco features detailed in patterns, suspended canopies and raised clerestory-lighted lobbies.
It provides a comfortable, safe and functional facility. The clarity of the three-winged plan makes this large building comfortable and understandable for visitors. It groups appropriate spaces, provides security through zoning, and separates crowds, noise and traffic during simultaneous functions.
It gives students an optimal learning environment and accessible resources. Daylight brightens most of the building, including staff planning areas that are situated centrally to provide easy access and passive supervision of resource centers, team-learning areas and lockers. Grouping these resources allows students to stay in the academic wing most of the day, reduces transition time and makes the building more intimate. Fully integrated technology, energy-conservation systems and high-quality materials make Wausau East an optimal environment for learning.
