Texas Tech University System, English/Philosophy & Education Complex
Lubbock, Texas
The English/Philosophy & Education Complex consists of 211,000 square feet of modern educational space in a two-building complex. It features a landscaped courtyard with a water sculpture, “Headwaters,” by renowned artist Larry Kirkland. This sculpture is a recent addition to the college’s public art collection.
The College of Education occupies a three-story, 91,000-square-foot building, while the departments of English and philosophy occupy the four-story, 120,000-square-foot English/Philosophy Building. Each building of the complex contains advanced technology such as distance-learning classrooms, computer labs, testing labs and basement lecture halls. This is the first new academic facility built on the Texas Tech campus since 1976.
