The Student Wellness Center at Texas Tech University provides a one-stop facility for all of the university’s student-wellness programs, including clinical and mental-health functions, and some student support space. Level one is organized around an indoor Main Street, the primary pedestrian walk that directs patients to the various clinics, labs, radiology and pharmacy.
The primary-care clinic area is designed in modules, giving the wellness center the flexibility to accommodate a variety of specialty clinics. Ancillary services are adjacent to each other for better circulation and separate operations.
The counseling center on level two features generous offices, a private waiting area, and a full array of testing and group therapy, conference and meeting rooms. The counseling offices are situated along the perimeter of the building, making the most of natural light, while the rooms for observation, study and treatment are situated on the interior for a more controlled atmosphere. For privacy, discreet entrances and private waiting areas serve the clinics, counseling facilities and support departments.
