University of Houston Downtown, Commerce Street Building
Houston, Texas
This project used a construction manager at-risk delivery method. The building is a multi-story structure at a site bounded by Main Street, Commerce Street, Fannin Street and Franklin Street.
The facility houses classrooms, a lecture hall and seminar rooms, as well as offices for the departments of urban education and criminal justice. Also, the project included some surface parking and landscape development, which complements current projects that surround the site.
Major projects surrounding the site include the Main Street redevelopment project, Metro Light Rail, the Cotswold project on Franklin and Commerce, and the Buffalo Bayou beautification project.
