University of Houston, AIM Center for Investment Management, C.T. Bauer College of Business
Houston, Texas
In the summer of 2000, the architect was asked to develop an investment-management center within University of Houston’s Melcher Hall. The dean of the business school had a passion for the project that led him to the partners at AIM Management, all University of Houston Business College graduates. The leaders at AIM understood the value of creating an educational program focused on investment strategies in financial trading.
The designers developed an efficient and attractive space by upgrading the standard classroom setting to include 24 real-time trading solutions, an elliptical NASDAQ ticker, and an adjacent videoconference room. This classroom is enclosed in glass so visitors and students can view the programs and technology the school offers. The building entrance and lobby were enlarged and redesigned to become a multiuse focal point of the building.
