Jordan Applied Technology Center
West Jordan, Utah
The Jordan Applied Technology Center is a creative and innovative joint-use building—the result of an unprecedented partnership between the Jordan School District and Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). It serves high school students by day and college students by night. SLCC‘s concurrent enrollment program allows students to enroll in college-level classes for both high school and college credit.
This cutting-edge facility includes programs for biotechnology, CAD, computer and CIM labs, pre-engineering, certified nursing, surgical technology, Ed Net and an electronics lab.
The campus design motif is “high desert mountain” architecture. The building sits on a base of native Utah sandstone. The brick veneer with precast lintels and sills recalls the traditional masonry detailing, which is juxtaposed against the modern, curved curtainwall used in the public areas.
High school students who take advantage of this state-of-the-art technology center will be prepared to further their education by earning up to two years of college credit or to enter the workforce with the skills and experiences needed for success.
