John C. Blazier Intermediate School

The new Blazier Intermediate Campus was planned to provide crowding relief for the existing Blazier Elementary School, develop a program for the new intermediate campus while addressing areas of need in the existing school, and offer design opportunities to consolidate the pedagogical vision for the Blazier Global Educational Village, serving grades PK-8 between two campuses, Blazier Elementary and Blazier Intermediate.
Extension of a more nurturing, supportive and familial environment along with increasing the number of years that siblings will attend school together is envisioned as a significant strength of this educational model. Programming goals expressed by campus stakeholders include increased opportunities for students to connect and build relationships with their peers and teachers. Collaborative areas throughout the campus are intended to maximize opportunities for mentoring interactions from upper grade students and community members. Keeping the plan open to enable these interactions was coupled with the desire for a safe and secure campus. The plan achieves both objectives successfully using transparent glass doors and opaque fire cum security doors at the learning wings.
