Wofford College commissioned McMillan Pazdan Smith to design a residence hall and athletic field house. This unique project provides a mixed-use program incorporating residence life, athletics, and educational elements under one roof.

Level one serves as the entrance lobby to the residence hall (on floors two and three), as well as an entrance to the athletic field house and classroom spaces. The project provided locker rooms, lounges, mudrooms, and team offices for baseball, softball, and golf teams. The golf locker room includes training space with golf simulators and an indoor putting green.

The residence hall is designed for double- and single-occupancy rooms with shared hall bathrooms (150 beds), but also features some rooms with private restrooms for flexible student use. Each floor has common spaces and study nooks; kitchen, laundry, and trash facilities; as well as lounges. The second floor features two patios that overlook Wofford’s campus.

Aesthetically, the building fits well within the historical context of Wofford’s campus, tying into the existing residence halls and adjacent buildings, including various athletic buildings.
