The new home of James Madison University’s College of Business extends the existing Showker Hall toward Newman Lake to create a business education hub on par with the best business school facilities in the country. A three-story, light-filled atrium serves as a community space for students, faculty, and staff. The atrium connects the college’s signature spaces: the Capital Markets Lab, the Innovation Collaboration and Entrepreneurship Lab, and student services. The Learning Concourse at the southwest end of the atrium overlooks a new lower-level, 300-seat dining hall; at the north end, a double-height promenade links the extension with Showker Hall and provides a new entry from the campus core.
