The Alliance community gained more than a high school addition; it gained the Performing Arts Center (PAC) that area leaders had dreamed about for years. The school board approved an addition featuring a 761-seat auditorium, servery, identifiable entry, and a lobby space serving as a cafeteria, study hall and community commons.

Community support and funding expanded the design beyond high school expectations into a true PAC. It is equipped with a videoconference system supporting distance learning, uniting the community with previously unobtainable educational opportunities. A full sound and lighting system accents the stage’s full fly system. Other elements include a scene shop used by industrial training staff, students and touring shows with adjacent loading dock. The servery includes local vendors providing additional lunch and concession options.

The process included many community members, building the stage design requirements while engaging local support and building future aspirations.

Since the opening Elvis act from Vegas, the PAC has exceeded expectations. It now serves the community as a regional center expanding the arts, education and performance opportunities for lifelong learners.
