SAINT PAUL, Minn. — TKDA, an employee-owned provider of engineering, architecture and planning services, announces Angela Otteson, AIA has joined the firm as education market manager for the firm’s Architecture Division.
Otteson has led and been a part of numerous projects within the K-12, higher education, government and office design markets for more than 12 years. Her experience includes design, development of production documents, project management, site analysis, code review, cost estimating and construction administration for a number of clients. Among those clients are the independent school districts of Saint Paul, Edina, Centennial, Farmington and Hermantown as well as municipal, county and corporate entities.
She served as project manager for Saint Paul Public Schools’ Facility Master Plan, where she managed a team to complete an early design diagram for 13 sites to represent client requests for changes to their facilities. For Edina Public Schools’ Elementary Projects referendum, Otteson created and managed core planning group documents to create new visions for adapting to 21st-century learning in the district’s elementary schools. These projects included the creation of innovative media, collaboration and breakout spaces within existing buildings. She served as project architect for the $15 million Emergency Operations Training Facility in Minneapolis, designed to LEED Silver specifications, and the new Hennepin County 911 Call Center.
She is a registered architect with a Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Science in environmental design, and a minor in Business Administration from North Dakota State University.
