SfL+a Architects has announced that Brian Williams, telecommunications infrastructure designer, has received his Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification. Williams, who joined the firm in March of 2012, has 18 years of engineering experience and pursued this certification in order to offer a higher level of service to clients. RCDD certification, which is globally recognized within the telecommunications industry as a designation of the exceptional qualifications of an individual, is the gold standard in expertise regarding the design and installation of information transport systems including data, audio, visual and surveillance. This information is crucial for the proper function and design of necessary building components including phone, Internet and security systems.
In order to achieve the certification, an applicant needs at least five years of experience in the design field, as well as detailed knowledge of the Telecommunications Distribution Design Manual. Williams currently works in the Fort Bragg area and brings a tremendous amount of design, construction administration, inspection and commissioning experience to the SfL+a Architects’ team.
