Higher Ed Architect Scott Baker Joins McMillan Pazdan Smith

Scott Baker has joined McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture as a project manager in its Higher Education Studio.

Baker, a registered architect in North and South Carolina with 35 years of professional experience, will work out of the firm’s Charlotte office.

“Scott Baker’s vast experience in campus design and master planning is a welcome addition to our Higher Ed studio,” says MPS Principal Brad Smith. “His demonstrated client-first approach further informs and strengthens our ability to keep our Higher Education partners at the forefront of effective facility planning and innovative design.”

Baker’s projects have appeared on over 20 college and university campuses in the Carolinas and Georgia. His past work includes campus master plans, renovations and new construction, including classroom buildings, labs, residence halls and parking decks.

A focused area of expertise for Baker has been health science buildings, including the Leon Levine College of Health Sciences at Appalachian State University, a LEED Silver project that was recognized as the 2019 Best Public Project in the Build North Carolina Awards.
