EYP Architecture & Engineering announces that Richard (Rick) W. Kuhn, AIA, recently joined the firm’s Boston office as a principal and lead designer. With a wide range of expertise and an impressive body of award-winning work, including 34 AIA awards, he is nationally acknowledged as a premier designer and strong leader with an outstanding record of successful projects. In his new role, Kuhn will provide design leadership for EYP’s higher education, government and corporate sectors.
With more than 25 years of diversified design experience, ranging from academic and cultural institutions to complex, large-scale mixed-use urban projects, Kuhn’s work is featured throughout the United States, Asia and the Middle East. His previous projects include the Tenley and Anacostia Libraries in Washington, D.C.; the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture, Charlotte, N.C.; the NCCU Biomanufacturing Laboratory and Classroom Building (B.R.I.T.E.) in Durham, N.C.; and the International Civil Rights Center and Museum in Greensboro, N.C.
Kuhn received a Master’s degree in architecture from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Design degree with honors from the University of Florida. A member of the AIA, NCARB and Boston Society of Architects, he is registered architect in New York and Maryland.
