The York County School of Technology is a comprehensive high school that provides academic and technology education to students from 14 school districts in Pennsylvania. The renovation and expansion will result in a 440,000-square-foot facility with state-of-the-art building systems and technology to support three separate and distinct career academic and technical academies: Engineering/Construction Academy, Arts and Human Services Academy and the Manufacturing/Transportation Academy.
Situated in the Manufacturing/Transportation Academy is the welding and metal fabrication technology lab. This state-of-the-art welding lab has more than 4,100 square feet and contains 49 individual welding stations. This expansive lab teaches students the fundamentals of various welding applications. Adjacent to the welding and metal fabrication lab is a classroom space for instructing students prior to the hands-on work in the lab space.
