WMEP Interdistrict Downtown School
Minneapolis, Minnesota
The WMEP (West Metro Educational Program) Interdistrict Downtown School’s architectural space program is for 600 K-12 students. The downtown school structure sits atop a three-story, below-grade municipal parking ramp owned and operated by the city, and is designed as an integrated/extended community design model that will use the diverse downtown environment as its primary context.
The school reflects this by providing focused instructional houses and shared school space, which will be augmented by off-site learning settings. The facility and its programs are designed to make use of advanced technologies and hands-on learning.
