The Weber State University Tracy Hall Science Center, at four stories and 184,000 square feet, is the largest building on campus and is arguably the most important academic building project in the university’s history. It houses the seven departments of the College of Science: chemistry, geology, physics, botany, microbiology, zoology and math.
To support these programs, the building includes cutting-edge teaching labs, research labs and classrooms. For the faculty, collaborative meeting rooms and offices infused with daylight are provided in the iconic east curve. The building is perfectly situated on campus at the head of the Bell Tower Plaza. This is an ideal location for the ground-level Student Success Center, which includes testing and tutoring.
Architecturally, the building embodies the concept of “science on display.” From the DNA brick pattern to the interactive artwork in the atrium and the full-view science labs, students engage concepts of science with every step through the building. It has become the social and academic heart of the College of Science.
