The Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall is one of the grand features of the Natalie L. Haslam Music Center. The space ties in with the overall direction of the facility by maximizing space and usability for music teaching, practice, rehearsal, and presentation.

The two-story recital hall is designed to hold more than 400 student and audience members on main floor and mezzanine levels. All 412 seats in the hall are covered in navy leather and feature birch wood backings.

Double-stud, triple-layer wallboard was incorporated to eliminate sound transfer between the adjacent perimeter spaces, and interior acoustic wall panels optimize the sound quality within the space.

Adjusting the tunability of the hall is accomplished with adjustable multi-level acoustic wall curtains and acoustic wall-mounted sound panels, which are camouflaged by dramatic cherry wood slats.

The Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall was designed to the meet the needs of the Music Department as well as the campus community.
