University of Tennessee Knoxville, Surge Building
Knoxville, Tennessee
The Surge Building is a 20,000-gross-square-foot, two-story structure that will accommodate some of the programs displaced by the construction of the Energy and Environmental Science Research Building. The Surge Building will house offices, open workstations, graduate research space, research laboratories, and laboratory support spaces. The Surge Building is situated among existing greenhouses, so careful siting to minimize detrimental shadowing was necessary. The project budget for Surge is $7.3 million.
