The Ken and Blair Mossman Building is a shared research facility that provides flexible core labs, classrooms and study areas for the departments of microbiology, nutrition, psychology, microbiology and cellular and molecular biology.

Designed within the Collegiate Gothic Campus Architecture standard on the exterior, and interior design based on a technology-driven approach, this building is a top 21st-century science facility. The facility represents a great stride in achieving the university’s goal of being recognized as a top 25 higher education institution.

Seating equipped with charging and working areas is situated outside classrooms. Stadium-style seating for 250 is provided outside the largest classroom. A bagel shop on the ground floor has indoor and outside seating. Each floor has a study area for students at a prime location that looks directly at Ayers Hall.

The facility is named for Ken and Blair Mossman, who met in a study space while attending the University of Tennessee.
