The Brenda Lawson Athletic Center addition is a comprehensive four-story addition to the University of Tennessee’s Neyland-Thompson Sports Center comprised of nearly 68,000 square feet. This building adjoins the Anderson Training Center. The combination of the three buildings was completed in 2013, resulting in a 145,000 square foot athletic facility.
As part of the addition, a new entry with a two-story lobby rotunda was included to help create a stronger point of arrival and identity for both the Athletic Department and the football program.
Several lounge areas are located throughout the halls of the facility, many of which feature trophies and UT Athletics branding. These areas include oversized leather seating, along with sleek UT Orange couches.
UT Orange ties the different areas of the building together, along with the UT Athletics Power T, which is prominently featured on doors, elevators, and wall mountings. The school’s official orange color is even featured in the floor tiles and carpeting throughout the space.
