The Ian and Mimi Rolland Art and Visual Communication Center at the University of Saint Francis is distinctive. A renovation of two former warehouse structures, the center’s aesthetic qualities are perfect for the creative process. High ceilings, natural light and wide-open spaces contribute to the feeling that you’re in a New York artist’s loft. Unlike a sterile classroom building, this center stimulates creativity and expression.

The center houses the university’s art and communication programs. It is from this restored complex that students will emerge as woodworkers, photographers, ceramic artists, painters, sculptors, computer art animators, television and radio producers, graphic designers, weavers, printmakers, video editors, art teachers, writers, jewelry designers, media planners, art therapists and more. Education will be delivered through expanded studios, classrooms and technology. The facility can accommodate nearly 550 computer stations, and features the ultimate in multimedia editing and computer-based art technologies.

But this is not just a center for students. With this expansion in gallery facilities, the University of Saint Francis will host notable exhibits, activities and events for the northeast Indiana community.
