A home where ideas can be built on a foundation of innovation, UnionWest at Creative Village offers a one-of-a-kind live-learn-work student life experience in an urban setting. With 10 floors of student housing positioned over five floors of academic podium set in an up-and-coming vibrant urban revitalization, UnionWest offers unparalleled access to the future of student life. This mixed-use student facility offers new possibilities in the heart of downtown Orlando.

The space is the home of Valencia College’s Walt Disney School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality, along with programs such as legal studies, non-profit management, digital media and more. The building management is designed with energy-efficient sequencing with demand control ventilation, optimal start/stop, and trim-and-response reset temperatures with static pressure set points. The building is equipped with a dedicated energy-recovery unit with desiccant dehumidification system for enhanced humidity control and energy efficiency.

Baker Barrios Architects, partnering with Cannon Design, took pride knowing that this project would transform not only downtown Orlando, but also the experience of students and faculty on the new downtown campus.
