The University of Tennessee, Student Union – Phase II
Knoxville, Tennessee
The Student Union Phase II serves as the premier meeting and event space for the entire campus, housing essential services such as the Visitor Information Center, dining venues, post office, print and copy shop, and credit union. The heart of the design provides “living rooms” for students. The large atrium and seating areas provide opportunities for students to find quieter moments or meet with friends throughout the day.
The auditorium offers an advanced program venue along with a 12,000-square-foot ballroom, outfitted with movable walls that support other event opportunities. Other amenities include a tiered seminar room to accommodate meetings of the Student Government Association (SGA) and Faculty Senate. The Executive Dining Room elegantly hosts campus leaders, business meetings and visiting dignitaries.
The Union also is home to offices for SGA, Dean of Students, Center for Student Engagement, Jones Center for Leadership & Service, Sorority & Fraternity Life and student organizations. A recreation area features video gaming, billiards, table tennis and an event venue. An art gallery features student works, prized permanent collection pieces and travelling exhibits.
