The New School, Fogelman Library at Arnhold Hall
New York, New York
The Fogelman Library at Arnhold Hall project incorporates 20,000 square feet of new library space on several floors of the existing Knowledge Union at The New School. This unique project is at the cutting edge of library and information-technology facilities within the university setting. Books, computers and food are integrated into spaces throughout the building, creating a very active center for the university.
The project was phased to keep the building operating throughout construction. The project provides students with computer workstations, informal seating areas, quiet study areas, computer classrooms and food services all within an existing building.
The design accommodated a very short construction timeframe oriented around the school’s summer break.
