The John Marshall Law School (JMLS) redeveloped this building in the epicenter of Chicago’s South Loop Education Corridor as part of its commitment to accessible legal education in the Loop, a nucleus for community outreach, and the new home of the Veterans Legal Support Center and Clinic.

Street-level glazing showcases the school’s vibrant programs, while a rich palette of interior finishes elevates the educational experience to that of a professional law firm setting befitting the stature of JMLS’s pedagogical mission as well as provides dignified office space for student’s professional interaction with veterans seeking legal assistance. A variety of conference and meeting venues with differing levels of visual transparency offers welcoming choices to veterans who may suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD). A seamless connection with adjacent buildings enables access for students and staff, while a separate street lobby provides clients a dignified and professional entrance.

Two vacant upper floors are earmarked for growth and additional clinics. The structure was enhanced to accommodate a future roof deck and pavilion overlooking Chicago’s federal office buildings.
