The Fred Rowan Family Middle School’s architectural detailing and interior design elements are a direct reflection of the students’ influx of energy. The addition of the school to the Holy Innocents’ campus provided spaces for students to develop and expand their knowledge in classrooms, science labs, a media lab, art lab and student commons.

To express and share creativity, the art lab situated on the upper floor is wrapped in clerestory glass. It features large, round skylights that protrude from the roof deck, providing natural light for young artists to develop their creations.

To collaborate on group assignments, or just to hang out and socialize, the student commons and media lab provide unique areas for students to meet in groups via the movable furnishings while accessing the Web via the wireless network. Computer stations are available for research and video editing.

The main corridors and administrative offices use low-maintenance, high-durability finishes that will survive years of continual use and abuse from teenage students.
