Temple University, University Village

Over the course of the past five years, Temple University’s enrollment has increased by almost 30 percent to 22,215 undergraduates. More than five times as many students are living on or near campus as there were just a few years ago.
To meet the needs of its burgeoning residential population, Temple University has unveiled a privately managed housing option called University Village, at the intersection of 10th Street and Montgomery Avenue. This facility houses upperclassmen who have chosen to remain on campus. It has 749 beds and is managed by American Campus Communities.
The building was completed in just 10 months. In order to meet such an aggressive schedule, many prefabricated building systems were used. Some of these systems include precast plank floors and prefabricated exterior wall panels with either thin brick or stucco veneer.
University Village consists of single- and double-occupancy bedrooms within two- and four-bedroom apartments. The complex contains a multipurpose room, fitness center, computer lab, student lounge, outdoor space for recreation and a courtyard.
