Stonehill College, Notre Dame du Lac Residence Hall
North Easton, Massachusetts
Receiving rave reviews since opening, Notre Dame du Lac hosts 120 students in eight suites. Designed to prepare students for life beyond college, the residences offer suites with varying combinations of single-, double- and triple-occupancy bedrooms. Each suite includes a spacious living room, galley kitchen with eat-in counter area, ample storage and private bathrooms. Bathroom sizes and access also vary to provide privacy levels consistent with evolving student needs and special programs.
Designed to support learning, community interaction and comfort, the building provides common areas, spacious study rooms, an expansive multipurpose lounge, bicycle storage areas, laundry rooms and public restrooms.
The Neo-Georgian style is consistent with the architectural context of the campus. Custom detailing in the entry and common areas gives a luxury-housing market appeal to a cost-effective construction approach. Concrete masonry block-bearing walls, steel joists and concrete-deck construction reduce maintenance costs and are resistant to wear and tear. The building is completely air-conditioned. Systems, cabling and data ports anticipate evolving technological requirements.
