St. Andrew’s Scots School
St. Andrew’s Scots School in Buenos Aires plans to consolidate three sites into one new cohesive central campus. The architects completed campus programming and developed a comprehensive master plan.
The campus is designed to accommodate 2,000 K-12 students in a modern environment with harmonious architectural style, and individual visual and architectural identities for each major grade. Vision planning was conducted and resulted in the following guiding principles:
•Create a strong, visual campus that is stimulating, inviting, appealing and metaphorical.
•Create a campus that enhances a modern school identity while remaining respectful of its proud tradition.
•Incorporate a sustainable, eco-friendly design that possesses a positive relationship with nature.
•Design a campus that is welcoming to school and non-school citizens, allowing for multi-sized community events.
•Zone the campus for after-hours use, especially performing-arts and sports facilities.
•Create a plan that includes unobstructed ties between buildings and outdoor spaces, segregation of pedestrians and vehicles, and ease of phased development.
•Provide a clear welcome center.
