The new 35,000-square-foot Transportation and Operations Center provides a unique way to combine transportation and other district departments in one facility.
Key spaces in this center include bus maintenance, indoor automated vehicle wash, paint room, facilities maintenance shop, transportation department, grounds department, food-service administration, training room, and a multipurpose conference room with Internet distance-learning capabilities for employee training, district and community meetings.
The design incorporates technologically advanced systems including fiber-optic cabling, emergency power, interior and exterior online security cameras, a keyless entry system and centralized lubricant distribution. Developed on an environmentally sensitive 56-acre site, the project preserves 30 acres of wetlands.
Efficient operation and effective use of district and community resources are the key benefits of the new facility. Centrally situated, the center provides unique opportunities for cooperative fueling agreements and washing services with the Town of Henrietta, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and other municipal entities.
Additional benefits include on-site parking for district vehicles, employee parking, appropriate district storage space, and room to accommodate future growth.
