With an obsolete rubber court, dim lighting, worn bleachers and yellowing paint, the Irene Stacy Memorial Gymnasium, originally built in 1975, needed a complete renovation.
The school’s primary goal, established in the preliminary planning stages, was to provide an updated, first-class gymnasium, which would establish a benchmark for future athletic facility improvements at the school’s main campus.
New hardwood sports flooring, multi-level lighting and bleachers, complemented by a new sound system, and new fixtures and equipment result in a modern facility of which the entire school community can be proud.
Trophies and awards, highlighting the school’s 40 years of sporting achievements, are displayed in the new 2,000-square-foot lobby addition, which connects the gymnasium to the main locker rooms and serves as a gateway to the east campus athletic complex.
