Inspired by rapid industrial growth in western Kentucky, Owensboro Community & Technical College developed the state-of-the-art Advanced Technology Center. The facility is designed to support programs that enable regional students to attain the education and training necessary to succeed in the increasingly specialized local job market.
To support the professional development of the local workforce, the Advanced Technology Center offers a wide range of educational programs. Technology-focused programs include information technology, telecommunications, automated manufacturing technology, integrated automation and computer-aided design. In addition, the facility supports courses in electricity and electronics, electrical maintenance, fluid power and pneumatics, biotechnology and a variety of other specialized industries.
Beyond its classroom spaces, the Advanced Technology Center offers a large multipurpose meeting room and seminar spaces. Faculty offices, the registrar’s office, a student lounge and art gallery also are included in the building.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the facility can adapt to the evolving needs of the community and the rapidly changing technologies of the region.
