The project consisted of about 6,450 square feet of renovation of an existing Dental Simulation Laboratory at Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine, Health Professions Division. The existing 130 dental simulation units were upgraded to state-of-the-art simulation dental chairs.
The new chairs are arranged in pods of four, and each is equipped with a computer monitor, air, vacuum, data, and electrical connections. A raised flooring system with interlocking vinyl flooring was used to run utilities to the dental units.
The new simulation equipment has a smaller footprint, and more units can be added within the same space. The raised flooring enables the lab to add infrastructure for any future equipment with minimal disruption.
The laboratory can easily add equipment to expand the dental program, meet the needs of the university and provide students with the latest advancements in dental technology.
