Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus, Idea Center
Miami, Florida
The Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus Idea Center Project remodeled 7,700 square feet of an existing computer courtyard space into a new collaborative learning environment. The Idea Center concept promotes the synthesis of various areas of interaction though presentation, social, tactical execution and strategic thinking spaces. The spaces encourage collaborative learning through a flexible arrangement of furniture. The use of raised flooring and integrated technology along with a variety of furniture types allow the facility to adapt to each student’s needs and accommodates a multitude of learning styles. The design, furniture and materials encourage creativity and embody the new era of higher educational environments.
Each of the areas in the Idea Center has its own unique characteristics in terms of design, layout, furniture selection and technology base. They may remain separate or they may also seamlessly blend to morph into new areas with the quick relocation of furniture pieces allowing for the ultimate flexibility in learning through design.
