The design of the Mathematics and Technology Building is a blend of California Mission style, established by the existing buildings, and a more contemporary approach. Tower elements with arched openings create unique entry identities for the culinary-arts department, mathematics department and Student Success Center. Another tower element at the corner creates a gateway to the campus, further defining the east campus entry experience.

The culinary-arts department includes three instructional kitchens: pastry, baking and skills. The facility includes a functional restaurant and lecture hall/demonstration kitchen. Fully operational glass walls allow for a visual connection to the exterior.

The two-story Mathematics and Technology Building is aligned with the existing parking structure, and the classrooms comply with the district’s program to provide functional spaces to deliver educational content. Clean, smooth stucco walls and rustic red clay-tile roofs, with stained wood rafter details, were chosen to match existing buildings.

The Mathematics and Technology Building includes extensive daylighting and views in more than 90 percent of the spaces. The project is slated to receive LEED platinum certification.
