To accommodate the campus’ growing needs, the architect completed the design of a 200-bed residence hall for LeTourneau University and is the first of three phases for housing in the southeastern quadrant of the campus.

At LeTourneau, it is not uncommon for students to remain on the same floor in the same housing complex during their undergraduate programs. To complement this unique floor unity, floor lounges were designed as a part of each wing. The design of the new residential-like space also includes a large main gathering lobby for students on the first floor, which includes a bistro, fireplace and group-study areas.

The project utilizes sustainable strategies, including occupancy sensors to control lighting/HVAC in suites, operable windows, and an abundance of daylight and sustainable finishes, which were executed through careful selection and life-cycle cost analysis of systems, materials and design decisions.
