Keith Valley Middle School Learning Commons
Hatboro, Pennsylvania
The Keith Valley Middle School project replaced an outdated, inaccessible facility with a new, flexible building designed to support modern middle school education for grades 6 to 8. Organized into small learning communities around shared resources, the school promotes collaboration, adaptability, and hands-on learning, creating an environment that reflects contemporary educational practices.
In partnership with the school and district, the design team enhanced the environment through graphic storytelling. Infographic-style illustrations highlight facts about local, state, national, and global history, events and notable figures—reinforcing that learning happens everywhere. A key feature is the STEAM wall, where an enclosed partition exposes color-coded building systems aligned with educational graphics that help students understand how life systems function within a building. The team also refined existing classroom pod logos into cohesive designs aligned with grade-level color palettes—yellow, orange and blue—strengthening identity, consistency and school pride.”
