We stand on the shoulders of giants.

Contrary to the popular notion that notable architecture is the outcome of heroic individualism, we believe that noteworthy architecture is the result of historical influences in combination with collaboration.

Traditional architecture is out of fashion in our “woke culture.” The baggage of our antebellum past easily supports self-recrimination; however, dismissing classical architecture in a wholesale purge is simplistic and ham-fisted. We stand on the shoulders of renaissance giants (Bramante, Brunelleschi, Palladio, et al.) as we reinterpret classical design principles in contemporary, traditional architecture.

Collaboration also figures prominently in all successful architecture. In the case of the Kappa Delta Sorority House, the chairperson of the building committee, Whitney Byars, filled a critical role of providing leadership and unwavering attention to details and quality.

This four-story house has built-in beds for 85 members, a large chapter room accommodating 450 members, and multiple study rooms and social areas. The house is ADA-accessible and has an elevator. Other features include laundry rooms, large bathrooms, and a courtyard for members to dine and study.
