Judson Early College Academy
Live Oak, Texas
The Judson Early College Academy, situated on the Northeast Lakeview College campus, is designed to enable students to earn an associate’s degree while also getting a high school diploma.
The high school consists of two buildings. The first is a one-story administration building that includes a clinic, cafe and commons area. The second, a two-story education building, includes 10 general instruction classrooms, four science labs, two computer labs, a large-group classroom and a teachers’ workroom. Both buildings are equipped with data connections that are designed to adapt for future technological expansion. Windows incorporated throughout admit natural light into the classrooms and common areas.
The exterior building entries are defined clearly. Interior stairs are open and visible from the exterior and provide a sense of connection between floors.
The two buildings are connected by an outdoor bridge and share a common courtyard. Exterior materials merge well with the overall campus surroundings. The site layout of the two buildings also accommodates future expansion. A bus dropoff lane and 200-vehicle parking lot ensure smooth traffic flow.
All of this can be found within an 8-acre boundary that complements the overall college campus.
