The program for the Center for Doctoral Research and Education consists of two major components: the executive education facilities and the business school PhD programs.
The building was planned to extend the architectural character of the original business school, which was built five years earlier, while expressing the unique functions and programmatic mission of the center.
The Center for Doctoral Research and Education forms a new campus quadrangle with the existing building for the Business School and the Schwartz Performing Arts Center. The building consists of five floors and contains about 85,000 square feet. Five tiered and flat classrooms with breakout spaces, lounges and a cafe are on the three lower floors; faculty, PhD and administrative offices are on the top two floors. A major dining room for 200 occupies part of the top floor and has an outdoor terrace that overlooks the courtyard.
The Goizueta Foundation Center is expected to achieve LEED gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
