East Elementary School and Early Childhood Center
Jackson, Missouri
East Elementary School is an educational facility in Jackson, Mo., and is part of the Jackson R-2 School District. Although East Elementary School, a K-5 facility, and East Early Childhood Center share the same site and are within one structure, they function essentially as independent facilities.
This relationship enables them to share a common kitchen and other infrastructure elements, while maintaining separate entrances, administrative offices and play areas.
The building plans for these schools focused on designs that accommodate current educational and technology trends and are adaptable to the evolution of public education in the future.
The completed project includes flexible spaces that are easily configurable for large student groups or small work sessions, housed in an energy-efficient structure that glorifies the excitement of the school experience.
