Duxbury is committed to educating all of its children together from pre-K thru grade 12. This campus provides opportunities for children to learn together as they grow from grade 3 to 5 and then on to the middle/high school.
The children and community share amenities of the campus, such as the library, pool, Historical Society and student union, and the Duxbury Performing Arts Center. The students also are within walking distance of town cultural opportunities such as the Conservatory of Music and two museums.
The key element unifying the campus is the Performing Arts Center that links the middle/high school to the elementary school. Art, music, drama and athletics are well-suited for the middle and high schools. These facilities also provide features that can be enjoyed by all of the town’s citizens.
North/south orientation for classrooms provides ideal natural illumination, which is optimized through brise soleil and light shelves on the interior. Green technologies serve as educational opportunities for environmental awareness.
The classrooms are designed to accommodate team learning in middle school; the flexible design also embraces small learning communities.
