This replacement facility is the result of extensive collaboration of multiple entities to make this landmark project come to fruition. It is intended to serve as a statement of the school district’s commitment to workforce training, launching students with valuable skills to the next level. The campus is a joint-use complex that incorporates a technical college satellite campus, County Economic Development and this project, The Dr. Gilbert G. Woolard Technology Center, which was designed to foster a seamless transition from high school to the workforce or to the on-site technical college.
The facility houses a diverse group of syllabi, including culinary arts, law enforcement, auto body and auto mechanics, carpentry, mechatronics, welding and animal science, as well as early childcare, cosmetology and health sciences, and an isolated adult education suite. The building also has a county-driven joint-use multipurpose auditorium for functions such as dinners, presentations, awards, or other community gatherings.
