This redesign of the college’s north main entrance creates a more welcoming entrance space and lobby for students and visitors. The renovation includes a new student-services area, consolidating previously separate student admissions, administration and financial aid functions into one open, inviting one-stop-shop for current and prospective students, as well as alumni.

New student conveniences include computer terminal kiosks for class selection and vehicle registration, as well as a lounge/meeting area. Transparent and translucent materials admit light into the work area, and the curved reception counter improves visibility and staff interaction with students.

Sustainable design features and materials include regional quartz transaction and linoleum work surfaces, a custom-fabricated modular desk system made with rapidly renewable materials, recycled content flooring, low-VOC finishes and refurbishing some existing furniture for the lobby seating areas.

The remodel directly ties into a recent exterior redesign of the new north main public and visitor entry. The design provides a dramatic new image for the college while improving functionality, accessibility and improved environmental conditions.
