The new two-story Instructional Building has high-capacity multidiscipline classrooms, faculty offices, and meeting spaces. The first floor features eight classrooms, each with a capacity of up to 45 students, and one forum-size classroom with a capacity of 90 students.
The second floor is focused on continuing the interaction between faculty and students outside the classroom. The upper level includes 47 faculty offices, a large conference room, two meeting rooms, a staff lounge, and a breakroom for students to use while they wait to meet with professors and advisers.
The layout of the building promotes easy navigation and maximizes the usable square footage. The Instructional Building was thoughtfully designed to not only include elements of the existing architectural fabric of the San Luis Obispo campus but also introduce new design elements to the building and the campus architecture.
