Working with Robert A. M. Stern Architects (consulting business school design architect) and Moseley Architects (architect of record), the College of William and Mary wanted this building to reflect the architectural legacy of the historic campus and to incrementally implement the new "Campus Precinct Framework and Design Guidelines" in the South Campus Precinct.

The new Mason School of Business includes classrooms, offices and common areas featuring advanced technology. Particular attention was given to soundproofing rooms and offices to promote privacy. The facility also includes open computer laboratories, study spaces, meeting rooms, lounges, a library and a cafe with seating for more than 100 guests and an adjoining outdoor patio.

Although the aesthetics of the building reference the past, the new Mason School of Business features the latest in high-performance design principles and practices. The building is registered under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Green Building Rating System version 2.2. Consulting LEED standards and guidelines, and is pursuing gold certification.
