The Hendrix Student Center, on the east side of the Clemson University campus, was completed in April 2000 and designed for students to gather, relax and interact. This three-story structure is reminiscent of the original campus buildings erected in the late 1800s. The three-story atrium, which is centrally located, allows plenty of light and showcases the structure’s interior. The front of the building features a 360-foot-long covered arcade.
The student center includes a campus bookstore, food court, theater and copy shop on the ground floor. Ballrooms and meeting rooms occupy the second floor, next to administrative offices for the student union organizations. A coffee bar and student lounge overlook the atrium from the second-floor balcony. A career planning and placement center is situated on half of the third floor.
Student media organizations, including the campus radio station, cable news station, yearbook offices, and student newspaper paper offices are on the other half. At the center of the third floor, a glass-enclosed computer center is available 24 hours a day.
