Canyon View High School

Canyon View High School is a newly constructed educational facility within the Agua Fria Union High School District that seeks to cultivate “college and career ready” individuals.
The Agora is the central path connecting the diverse curriculum and activities housed within the campus. Interior and exterior learning spaces are color-coded to give students and staff unique educational settings. The bold orange learning stair is a central feature that unifies campus and acts as a key landmark.
The forts are specialized learning neighborhoods that enable seven academic pathways, in which the traditional classroom has been reinvented. Rather than being static in a homeroom, students and educators rotate daily through these learning labs. Mobile glass partitions provide transparency while enhancing collaboration and freedom of choice. These unique ideas paired with educational objectives showcase how design can shape student outcomes.
