The rehabilitation of this 20-year-old, four-story, multi-tenant office building and below-grade parking garage included a complete interior renovation, and the addition of two structural glazed canopies to identify both formal and public entrances to the building.
The new facility is designed to accommodate up to 600 students. It includes a 25,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art law library; eight new 40- to 100-student classrooms; a 180-seat lecture hall; a chapel; and a grand foyer for public receptions. A law commons with a coffee shop, vending area, multiple LCD monitors, a combination of loose tables and booth seating, and a Wii station provide a comfortable place for students and faculty to interact in an upscale, casual environment.
The latest hardware and software technology makes this law school one of the most technologically advanced education facilities in the state.
Two instructional courtrooms and one of only four North Carolina Business Courts also are in this facility, providing students an opportunity to observe actual court cases without having to leave the building.
